Aggie Memorial Stadium

Aggie Memorial Stadium

Product Description

Home of the New Mexico State Aggies, in recent years, Aggie Stadium has been ranked as one of the best stadiums in the Western Athletic Conference. In the mid 1970s discussion of a new stadium for the university’s football program was discussed to replace the original Memorial Stadium. Football has been played at the site of Aggie Memorial Stadium since 1933 and the first stadium opened in 1950. It was dedicated to New Mexico A&M students who died in the Spanish-American War and World Wars I and II.

Construction on a new stadium for the Aggies began in 1977 and was completed by September 16, 1978 when the Aggies played UTEP at the new Memorial Stadium. It was dedicated to the students who died in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The stadium had a capacity of just over 30,000 when it opened. Little has changed at Memorial Stadium since its opening. A new video/scoreboard was added in 2007. Over the past three decades Aggie Stadium has been an excellent venue to visit for great football games.

Capacity: 30,343
